Alida's Comments: (on her photographs published on 18.07.07): "The perennial problems of poor light and wind combined to wreck most of my shots. They were all taken with the 18-200 zoom and most of them wide open and at slow speeds where the lens is not at its best. I've included a thrush shot (1/30th, f7.1, 200mm) as a lesson to myself. I had just changed from the 18-200 to the 10-20 when I saw the thrush swoop down, pick a snail out of the limestone wall and proceed to beat it to death on a stone. By the time I changed back to the 18-200, he had finished his work and was about to fly off.
I managed to get one useable shot of him showing off his handiwork. The lesson must be - get another camera body!"
