Helen's Comments:
On her published photos of 06.07.07 of the Goodwood Festival of SpeedThe light was pretty dreadful on the whole (as you’ll see from the sky behind the big display of Toyota cars they had hanging up!) so I spent quite a lot of time using my macro lens focussing on details rather than whole cars. The Festival’s got so busy now that it’s virtually impossible to photograph a complete car without someone walking into shot. However, on the Sunday it did stop raining for long enough for me to capture Lewis Hamilton going up the hill climb so I’ve included that too.
And on her published photos of 21.03.07:More pictures of our cat, Gracie, this time taken with my new 60mm macro lens. She’s such an obliging model! A camellia I happened upon outside the music department at one of my schools, once again taken with my macro lens. I’m sure the students thought I was bananas crawling around in the flowerbed armed with my camera but I was rather pleased with the pictures I got! West Dean. I was running a recorder weekend and grabbed the opportunity to go out into the gardens when my students had a couple of hours off. The misty image was taken early, before breakfast – Howard was obviously right – it pays to get up early! Marwell Zoo. I really struck lucky with the weather and the big cats were especially obliging.
On her latest photos (first 10 in gallery) published on 23.02.08: "I’ve bought myself a little collapsible table top studio which has been very handy for doing macro shots and it means I have no excuse if the weather’s bad! "
